Choose the right barcode format

EAN/UPC generation does not assign a GS1 company prefix or authorize a retail product ID. Verify your number ownership before printing retail packaging.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make barcodes from a CSV file?
Yes. Import a CSV with the barcode value in the first column and an optional label in the second. The file is parsed in your browser and is not uploaded.
Should I choose Code 128 or Code 39?
Code 128 supports ASCII text and is usually more compact. Code 39 accepts uppercase letters, digits and the symbols - . space $ / + %.
How do EAN and UPC check digits work?
Enter the data digits to calculate the final check digit, or enter the full code to validate it. These barcodes do not assign GS1 company prefixes.
How do I save barcode labels as a PDF?
Choose a paper layout, click Print labels, then select Save as PDF in your browser print dialog. Print at actual size without fit-to-page scaling.
Print notes
The Avery 5160 dimensions above follow the commonly published 2⅝ × 1 in, 30-label US Letter template. Printer alignment varies: make a plain-paper proof first and scan a sample from the actual printer. Keep scaling at 100% and do not crop the white quiet zones around each code.
